The SPEAKER

The speaker is an electromechanical device the function of which is to convert the electrical signal coming from the amplifier into a wave that our auditory system perceives as sound. Because of this function, it is called transducer.

1. (Subwoofer, woofer and mid-bass) dedicated to reproducing low frequencies.

2. (Midrange and tweeter) dedicated to reproducing the high and medium high frequencies.

SUSPENSION: Material consisting mainly of foam, rubber, canvas. It has the function to keep the membrane anchored to the basket.

MEMBRANE: it consists of materials like Kevlar, polypropylene, cellulose, carbon, aluminum, titanium. It has the function of reproducing frequencies.

Center OR SPIDER: allows a precise axial movement to avoid rubbing the coil.

COIL: electric winding connected rigidly to the top of the cone dipped in the middle of the 'pole of a magnet, in a cavity called the gap.

MAGNET: magnetic pole in the center gap. The materials forming the magnet are: ferrite, neodymium, alnico.

CASE: external structure of the speaker.

Dustcover: prevents impurities from entering the magnet’s gap.
